    Artist:
    Louie Bartos
    Description:
Sailors carried a ditty bag stocked with essential tools to make necessary, and often lifesaving, repairs at sea. Included here is a needle case with a variety of needles, sewing palm, serving mallet, tool bucket and two wood fids. Historic ditty bags averaged 14" high and 7" in diameter due to the width of the sailcloth the bags were made from.
